“ It’s good small town living,” Hassell said. “One of
the best things we have are the people. It is a retirement place, but they’re
people who are looking for a real community to be involved in.”
For people who are not retired, Hassell said Chaffee County is attractive
with good school systems, a community college, opportunities to pursue
visual and performing arts and many other activities.
“ We have an interesting mix of culture and arts for a small community,” Tynan
said.
“ There’s good accessibility to the Front Range, so it’s the
perfect place.”
Recreation opportunities are plentiful in or near Chaffee County,
so the county is attractive for anyone wishing for a home near such
attractions.
Monarch Ski and Snowboard Area is less than 30 minutes from Salida,
and several other major ski areas are accessible from Chaffee County
within 90 minutes. |
